William Simcoe
classical guitarist
William Simcoe is a classical guitarist who lives in Albany, New York. He is a soloist, recording artist, ensemble leader, concert organizer, arranger and accompanist. In the 2005/2006 season William Simcoe & the Spiral Ensemble performed in a series of concerts at Kenwood Convent of the Sacred Heart in Albany and at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. In 2006 William performed in joint recital with French guitarist Thibault Cauvin at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and he performed at the Ordu International Guitar Festival, in Ordu, Turkey. In 2006 he released his second CD “Mis Suenos de Tango”, in collaboration with flautist Elisabeth Williams (Eroica Classical Recordings JDT3274). In 2007 he will be performing new works by Brazilian composer Marcos Vinicius, and will perform with Marcos in concerts in the USA and Italy. In 2007 William will also be performing joint recitals with Montreal guitarist Isabelle Heroux, he will perform regularly with Elisabeth Williams for tango dancing, concerts and other events, and he will perform as accompanist for flautist Karen Klenavosky and soprano Rosanne Hargrave.
