Spiral Tango

Spiral Tango is the musical duo of William Simcoe (classical guitar) and Elisabeth Williams (flute). William and Elisabeth met at the Big House in Albany, New York on a summer night in 2003 at a Tango Albany dancing event. William was playing guitar. Elisabeth was dancing. Elisabeth approached William about the possibility of doing duets. The musical collaboration worked and they have been performing together ever since playing tango music and their own arrangements of tango and classical music. Spiral Tango has performed in Albany area venues including Caffé Lena, SPAC, the East Greenbush Community Library, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. Spiral Tango has performed for the Monday Musical Club of Albany, the Classical Guitar Society of Upstate New York, Children’s Hospital, and for events of the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy. William and Spiral Tango have performed for tango dancing for Tango Fusion, Tango Albany, Tango Mundo, the Albany Tango Society, and the Kripalu Center. They have performed in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, and for the Classical Guitar Academy of Milan, Italy. Elisabeth and William have a CD, “My Dreams of Tango” (Eroica Classical Recordings, 2006).
